Author, Tyndale House Publishers
Prior to taking a career left turn in 2017, Julie Fisk was named a Rising Star Attorney by Minnesota’s Super Lawyers for six consecutive years. As a business and employment attorney, Julie partnered with organizations to find creative solutions to legal issues. She especially loved working alongside human resource professionals in ways that promoted healthy, thriving working environments.
While Julie continues to teach at Concordia-St. Paul and provides periodic trainings on employment laws topics, she left her practice in 2017 to pursue a dream she had held since she was a child – becoming a published author.
It started in 2015 when she joined her now co-authors - Kendra and Kristin –as they combined their love of writing and their faith in a series of short devotionals, which eventually morphed into a year-long experiment of living with intentional kindness. In October 2017, Julie realized her dream with the release of her first traditionally published book, One Year Daily Acts of Kindness Devotional published by Tyndale House Publishing and found at Barnes & Nobles and other bookstores around the United States.
When she isn’t writing, Julie and Aaron are perfecting the art of imperfect hospitality. They’ve discovered that their house can hold approximately 70 people if everyone squishes in close; that farkle is a game non-English speakers can easily play; that one’s kitchen is always the focal point of any party, even when the cabinets are twenty years old; and that joy is found in having the loudest backyard on the block, especially when there are 15 children busy climbing the trees, digging in the sandbox, and scampering after the dogs.
